Information Sailrope bracelets

Sailrope bracelets strong, stylish and personal

The sailrope straps I use in my memorial bracelets are not only sturdy and durable, but also very beautiful to wear. Made of professional ship’s rope material, they form the perfect basis for a personal piece of jewelry that lasts a long time and can be worn daily.

What is sailrope?

Sailrope also known as a ship’s rope is a strong, flexible cord that is originally used in sailing. Due to its structure and composition, the material is resistant to wear and tear, feels pleasant on the skin and stays in shape. In my collection I process sailrope in different colors, including black, blue, olive green and gray, but also in mixed variants in which several colors are subtly intertwined.

Comfort and appearance

Sailrope is lightweight, flexible and fits comfortably around the wrist. The coarse texture and tough appearance make the material particularly suitable for men’s jewelry, but also for those looking for a modern, powerful design.

Personal touch

Each bracelet can be finished with commemorative glass charms, stainless steel clasps, rubber stoppers, stainless steel design charms in many different colors or other personal details. This creates a unique piece of jewelry that really fits who you are and who you commemorate.

Maintenance and care

You can easily clean your sailrope bracelet with a hand wash in lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Never use a soft cloth or your hands a brush. The glass charms and stainless steel parts can be washed without any problem. After washing, you can roll the bracelet dry in a clean towel. The material dries quickly and allows it to be worn again almost immediately.
Does the bracelet have a loose thread? Then you can easily melt it away with a lighter.
Never hold the flame directly on the cord, but wave the flame along the wire. This will allow the end to retract into the tire and prevent damage to the material.
Please note:
– Avoid sand or dirt between the fibers.
– Excessive perspiration can affect the color of the band over time, especially with nylon variants.
– Do not expose the bracelet to sunlight or tanning beds for a long time.
– Lightly coat rubber parts with a tip of petroleum jelly every now and then. This applies to both the rubber stoppers on the belt and the rubber in the head/socket slide closure. This keeps the rubber supple and allows the sleeve of the lock to slide easily over the lock without faltering.

Strong from the inside out

Sailrope usually consists of polyester or nylon. Nylon feels slightly softer and more elastic, while polyester is slightly stiffer and well UV-resistant. Both variants are extremely durable and suitable for daily use.
When making each bracelet, I carefully choose the type of cord that best suits the design, wearing comfort and appearance of the jewelry. I take into account color, application and finish.
Sometimes a certain version requires nylon, sometimes polyester depending on what comes into its own in the whole. By making that assessment in advance, you can count on a balanced and high-quality end result. If slight discoloration occurs over time with certain colors, which can occur naturally with some nylon straps, this falls within the properties of the chosen material and has already been taken into account in the design. For example, each bracelet is carefully
Balance between appearance, comfort and durability.

Craftsmanship and customization

Each bracelet is assembled and made to measure by hand. Whether it’s a subtle memorial piece of jewelry or a cool combination with multiple charms, your bracelet is created with care in my studio.
Sailrope combines wearing comfort, durability and character to create the ideal basis for a unique piece of memorial jewellery.

Guarantee of colour retention

With normal use (without prolonged exposure to sunlight, tanning beds or chlorinated water) you can expect your bracelet to remain beautiful for a long time. If there is exceptional discoloration within 3 months of delivery, we will look for a suitable solution together.
After this period, slight discolouration falls under the normal material properties of nylon cords in particular, and does not constitute a ground for replacement free of charge.
Each material is carefully chosen based on comfort, appearance and durability with attention to the application and expected wearing intensity.
Does your bracelet need to be replaced after a longer period of time due to wear or discoloration of the cord? The commemorative charms and other charms can be carefully transferred to a new binding, so that you can continue to wear your jewellery while retaining its meaning. This service is available for a fee. Feel free to contact me to discuss the possibilities.
