Please note: this piece of jewelry cannot be filled at home. It is handmade especially for you by Jet, who permanently fuses the cremation ashes into a marbled blue glass bead.

In the example shown, the ashes are visible inside the glass bead. If you prefer a different color in which the ashes are only partially or not at all visible, you may indicate this directly after placing your order.

The cremation bead is placed next to a stainless-steel anchor button bead. The bracelet is finished with a silver-tone stainless-steel adjustable clasp and is custom-made to fit your wrist.

The Sail-Rope bracelet is made from a strong blue braided band that is highly flexible and comfortable to wear. Sail rope is a durable polyester braided material with a smooth finish, commonly used in sailing due to its strength and flexibility.

The photos shown are examples of what your memorial bracelet may look like. Please note that your cremation bead will always be one-of-a-kind. Each bead is handmade, and cremation ashes vary in color and texture — from white to various shades of grey.

Once the ashes have been received, your memorial bracelet will be returned to you within 8 working days.

Important: for orders placed from outside the Netherlands, any remaining cremation ashes will not be returned.

Legally permitted within the EU

It is legally permitted to send a small amount of cremation ashes within the European Union for use in memorial jewelry or urns – with the exception of Germany, Austria, and France. This is only allowed if the shipment does not involve an official urn and the amount is limited to just a few grams. You never need to send the full contents of an urn – a maximum of 2 teaspoons per memorial item is sufficient.

Important distinction – shipping responsibility

While it is legally permitted to send a small amount of ashes within the EU, most postal and courier services (such as DHL, PostNL, or UPS) have their own internal restrictions. Because of this, each customer remains responsible for checking what is allowed in their own country before sending.

We advise contacting your local post office or courier service to ask about international shipping requirements. They can tell you whether cremation ashes may be sent and under what conditions. This helps prevent unnecessary delays or complications during transport.

Although we handle every shipment with great care, please note that any package containing ashes is shipped under the sender’s responsibility. We cannot take liability for potential delays, loss, or damage once the parcel is in transit.

How much is needed?

Only a small amount is required – no more than two teaspoons of ashes per memorial item.

No return of remaining ashes

Due to the risks involved with international shipping, any remaining ashes sent from abroad will not be returned. To prevent loss or delay of your memorial item, any leftover material will be respectfully scattered in a quiet natural area near our studio.

Exceptions – shipping ashes not allowed

Shipping cremation ashes is not legally allowed from the following countries:

• Germany
• Austria
• France

If you live in one of these countries, you may still order an empty memorial item or send a lock of hair for incorporation instead of ashes. Hair is always permitted for international shipment and will be treated with the same care and respect as cremation ashes.

Alternative option – lock of hair (on request)

Most memorial bracelets can also be made with a lock of hair instead of ashes. This option is available upon request and may require minor adjustments to the bracelet design or materials to ensure proper sealing and a durable, elegant result. Please contact Jet first if you would like to have hair incorporated instead of ashes, so the technical feasibility and details can be discussed.

This alternative is especially suitable for customers from countries where shipping cremation ashes is restricted. Sending a lock of hair is always permitted – both from within the Netherlands and from abroad.

After placing your order, you will receive clear email instructions. A lock of approximately 5 cm (2 inches) in length and the thickness of a pencil is sufficient.

Any remaining hair received with your order will be carefully returned to you together with your finished memorial piece.

International shipping instructions

After placing your order, you will receive detailed email instructions on how to safely send a small amount of ashes or a lock of hair. You will be asked to use a sturdy letterbox-sized box and follow our packaging guidelines to minimize the risk of damage or loss.

Please package your box discreetly and avoid using words such as “ashes” or “cremation” on the outside. You may use neutral terms such as jewelry components. Please note: this is not a guarantee of successful delivery.

Domestic shipping – within the Netherlands

For orders placed within the Netherlands, you will receive a DHL shipping label by email. You can drop off your package at any DHL service point.

Even within the Netherlands, you remain fully responsible for proper and secure shipping.
